In this post, we will learn about the introduction of the Instagram Reels feature. It is a new way of recording 15 seconds of video clips🥰 set to music on Instagram like TikTok. I hope this concept is a little familiar🙄, I am right. Almost it’s the same as TikTok!😊

So let’s learn about what is Instagram Reels, and how does it work as the same as TikTok, you can come to know everything you need to know by reading this post:

What Is Instagram Reels?

Instagram Reels is a new way of creating funny and music videos in Instagram Stories like TikTok videos.

Instagram first started and tested this feature in Brazil, Instagram’s latest video feature is moving now rocked out in Germany and France also.

According to Business Insider, Facebook confirmed to do this feature more extended, global rollout of the app, with users in India reporting getting early access to Instagram Reels. This came in India after the Indian government banned TikTok along with 58 other Chinese apps.

This feature is similar to TikTok, where users can record 15-second video clips set to music they like and share them with Stories on Instagram. 

Users can select the music from the existing library or they can use audio from another video or record their own voice with their own dialogues or singing songs.

There’s also video countdown timer and the option to change your video’s speed just like you can on TikTok Application.

Instagram Reels can post on Instagram Stories or you can send directly to specific users, or added to the new Reels tab on a user’s profile.

Note: Instagram has not announced when or if Instagram Reels will be rolled out worldwide. Keep visiting my site I will post all updates about this when we get this feature globally for all users.

Why Are Instagram Launching Reels?

If you’re thinking that most of these features very familiar and similar to TikTok, that’s right. Reels could be recognized as a direct acknowledgment of the increasing popularity of TikTok – which has grown and became the top most used application in the last 12 months.

TikTok got a name that “The most downloads for any app ever in a quarter” in Q1 2020, according to google play store information. 

As for the latest survey from Google, the range of TikTok users aged between 25 – 34 is  27.4%, and the users aged between 18 – 24-year is  35.3%.

Instagram is developing TikTok’s most common features particularly in regions where TikTok becomes most popular.

In reality, this isn’t the first time that Facebook, Instagram’s parent organization, has tried to start a TikTok alternative.

Facebook earlier started a short video app as Lasso, but it has failed to reach people.

Reels, however, could have a significantly greater possibility of success. Thanks to its excellent positioning in the Instagram app including all of the presentation and experience that appears by it.

There are above 1 billion current users now on Instagram and from the introduction of Instagram Stories in 2013. Instagram recognizes how to replicate a worked and experimented setup with success.

How to Create a Video with Instagram Reels

Instagram Reels is a new feature added to the Instagram Stories camera menu, placed both within the default Normal mode and create mode or on the bottom menu next to “Story”.

As of now, this feature is getting enabled only for the popular creates. Let’s discuss how we can use this feature. To use this feature just open the Instagram Stories camera and there you can see a new option called Reels.

From that screen, you can choose your audio by clicking on the music icon. And you can also adjust the speed of your video by pressing the play icon from the screen

Similar to TikTok videos, you can use effects/filters for your Instagram Reels video. You can select effects/filters from previously saved filters or you can scroll down and select the “Browse Effects” option to get new effects/filters.

Now after selecting effects/filters hold down the record button to record the video like on TikTok, you can start and stop recording various times in your 15 – seconds video by pressing and holding the record option button.

Once you’re satisfied with recorded video, you can edit the video thumbnail and you can save it as a draft. You can share it with your friends, stories, or you can add them to your Instagram profile.

For now, Instagram Reels is only available in Brazil, France, and Germany and in India (Only for Popular creates ), But with all features to rival TikTok, We will wait to see it rolled out to more locations very soon.
